One of the biggest complaints (or shall I say myths) that I hear around gyms revolves around Genetics and how they help some people gain huge muscles while keeping others small and weak.

Do genetics really matter or are they just a way for people who don’t have the kind of results they’re after to whine about their lack of muscle growth?

A lot of muscle building programs promise that they will help you overcome your genetic limitation and gain more muscle mass than ever before. Do these muscle building experts know some secret than you don’t or are they just blowing ...

The art of muscle building often seems much more complicated than it really is. Sure, there is always more to learn and more advacned techniques that you can use to try to gain a bit more muscle mass in a little less time. However, you can get awesome results just by following some basic guidelines.

These guidelines are just another example of the 80/20 rule in action. This rule means that 20 percent of your effort is responsible for 80 percent of the results you will get. This essentially means that by focusing on the 20 percent of actions that really ...

We all know that to gain muscles you need to eat right not just to train right. This is what the Anabolic Cooking program by “Muscle Cook” (as he’s fondly called) Dave Ruel teaches: how and what to eat in order to achieve your fitness goals and build the most muscle mass for your effort.

While there are many programs that show you how to train correctly, the place most muscle builders get it wrong is in their nutrition. The reason is simple: it’s quite easy to know when you’re training right and when you’re not training right. It’s easy to ...

Some muscle building websites focus on nothing more than teaching you how to gain muscle mass as fast as possible and as much as you can. I want to give you a broader picture and talk about how you can gain muscles and become more athletic in the process.

One of the main problems of muscle builders is that they bigger and heavier they get, the less athletic they get. You don’t see a really bulky NBA player, do you? No, their muscles are developed in an entirely different way. They have lots of definition but their muscles are big enough ...
Continue reading How to Become More Athletic

I believe that the extent to which you can build muscles is dependent on 3 factors:

How you workout (I include resting between workouts in this factor)
How you eat (you actually need to feed the body for it to grow properly and recover)
Your genetics

While you do have control over how you workout and how you ear, your genetic makeup is outside your control as you’re born with it and “stuck” with it for the rest of your life. Some people are generally more muscular than others and will achieve better results with the same workouts and nutrition protocol.

Some muscle building programs ...
Continue reading Muscle Building and Genetics – The Great Compromise

Anabolic Again is a muscle and strength building program created by Brad Pilon, expert nutritionist and trainer. It’s a program that’s defined as a solution to one of the most common problems muscle builders face: anabolic slow down.

If you’ve never heard of Anabolic Slow Down, it is still likely that you’re fighting it today. What it basically means is that you’ve just stopped building muscle and gaining mass, no matter what you’re trying to do and how you workout. It’s like your muscles themselves are resisting your desire for them to continue growing.

This is hardly surprising as we all know ...

source: wikipedia

But before we get into the specific tips, let’s see what the trapezius muscles are and where they located on your body. As you can see in the picture to the right, the trapezius muscle begins at your neck, goes to the side on the top of your shoulder and travels halfway down your back.

Due to they’re location, having ...
Continue reading How to Get Bigger Traps

Building lots of lean muscle tissue requires great effort and dedication. While many men and women have other things they rather do, like watch TV and go to the mall, you choose to spend much of your free time at the gym, pumping iron.

The question is how do you continue to have the required focus you need in order to go to the gym week after week month after month and give your heart and soul to get a little bigger, a little stronger.
